Alix Valentine- Colquhoun
Hi, I’m Alix. I’m a proud mother of four, currently studying for my English degree, and co-founder of Intersectional Uprising. I’m the organisational powerhouse behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly while staying fiercely committed to feminist values. Juggling family life and running a movement isn’t always easy, but I believe you can be a loving parent, a force for change, and embrace a little chaos all at once.
Together with Amy, I’m part of a dynamic duo dedicated to keeping feminism strong, inclusive, and, most importantly, fun. I’m passionate about building a movement that truly reflects all women and makes space for everyone to be heard and supported.

Hi, I’m Amy. I’m a passionate woman in STEM, co-founder of Intersectional Uprising and a proud cat mum. I bring energy, creativity, and a love of problem-solving to everything I do. I’m committed to making sure our movement stays intersectional and inclusive, so feminism truly represents and supports everyone. I believe that meaningful change happens when we combine passion with joy—so when I’m not focused on activism, you’ll often find me sending memes and reminding everyone that it’s okay to be silly while fighting for a better future.

Hi, I’m Adele. I’m part of the tech team, where I help keep the digital side of activism running smoothly. I’m equally passionate about organising and tinkering with tech because I truly believe digital tools are powerful ways to build movements, spark action, and connect people across borders. When I’m not working on activism projects, you’ll probably find me up late—I’m definitely a night owl—and spending time with my cats. I also firmly believe that most problems can be solved with snacks and a well-timed meme. For me, activism isn’t just about big rallies or protests; it’s also about the small, everyday ways we support each other and keep the momentum going online and offline.

Hi, I’m James. As a proud LGBTQIA person and Ally, I’m deeply passionate about supporting women’s rights, which is why I’m excited to volunteer with the tech team. By day, I work in complaints—basically, I’m a professional problem-solver, tackling issues and finding solutions. When I’m not working or volunteering, I love diving into sci-fi worlds, gaming, and exploring new places with friends and family.
I’m usually accompanied by my two cats, who definitely keep life interesting. Oh, and my hair? It tends to change colour almost every week—it keeps things fun and unpredictable! For me, volunteering with Intersectional Uprising is about using my skills and passion to help create a more equal and inclusive world, and I’m proud to be part of this movement.

Hey! I'm Sasha, I'm the mental health & well being officer as well as North Wales city lead! When I'm not trying to save the world, you can find me gaming, drawing or relaxing with my friends. I joined because despite my mums efforts to ensure I had a better life then her, I still became a victim of abuse at the hand of my ex. I have with EUBPD and CPTSD so due to this, but now I'm driven by my insane sense of social justice, fight for a fairer future & championing mental health and stigma above most things!

Hi, I’m Stacey. I’m a passionate trade unionist and lifelong advocate for workers’ rights, equality, and social justice. As the Trade Union and Charity Liaison Officer, I help keep us connected with trade unions and grassroots organisations so we can share resources, amplify campaigns, and stand in solidarity across movements.
I’ve spent years involved in activism within both trade unions and charitable organisations, working on issues from poverty and housing to gender-based violence and mental health support. I truly believe in the power of collective action and intersectional solidarity—that’s what drew me to Intersectional Uprising. I’m committed to building bridges between campaigns and making sure women’s voices are heard loudly in every space, whether that’s on picket lines or at community fundraisers.

Hi I’m Lydia (she/her), the Brighton City Lead and the Diversity Outreach Officer as part of the central team. Being a survivor, I have been passionate about Feminism from a young age and am grateful to be a part of this incredible group of committed individuals. I am also a disabled woman and am very involved in disability advocacy and activism including my role as disabled students officer at university, where I study criminology with psychology as a mature student. Aside from my activism, I am a true crime fanatic, animal lover, tattoo addict and voracious reader! I am also the proud owner of a travelling Crystal shop!

Hi I’m Dean, I am the Trade union liaison for Intersectional Uprising, and I also work with the Cambridge group in the same role. I got into this role as I used to be very heavily involved in my own union and the Trades Union Congress (TUC), which is where I met my wife. I am very passionate about organising and equal rights, so it was a natural step into this organisation.
When I am not on the computer organising or playing games, you can find me in the kitchen cooking or baking, or out in nature with my dog Lily (the unofficial emotional support dog on Cambridge Marches, who is always up for a cuddle) or foraging for some ingredients to create some weird and wonderful recipes.

Hello! I'm Lou, I help handle the data input for the team, so we can keep track of everything from socials to schedules! Activism has evolved in recent times, our fighting lines are now not only on the ground, but on our phones, tablets, pcs etc. It is a fight against misinformation, propaganda and rhetoric, and can feel overwhelming. I am involved in activism surrounding trans' rights, womens' rights, disability, opposing racism and wealth inequality. I am also doing the work to educate myself about: internalised misogyny, white privilege, white saviourism, white supremacy, colonialsm and Imperialism, so I can be a better advocate and ally. Being in a community of strong like-minded individuals is such a well needed respite. Outside of Activism, I have many half abandoned/ADHD fuelled hobbies including digital art, writing, embroidery, colouring etc. I have more books than I have shelves to house them, and am a tv/film fanatic! I am addicted to tattoos and my newest piece is inspired by Norse Goddess Freya and the Valkyries. I also host my own volunteer radio show Woke Folk on CVFM radio!

Hi, I’m Adele, the city lead for Manchester. I bring a unique blend of experience as a woman in STEM and the creativity that comes with my ADHD to everything I do. When I’m not leading marches or organising events, you’ll probably find me deep in a book or dreaming up new ways to make change happen.
I am with Intersectional Uprising as I am passionate about justice & humanity, I believe that true equality is something we can achieve in the future! I have many experiences which have shaped my life and I am determined to make a better future so people don't have to endure the same!

Oh hi! I'm Chloe (She/Her), one of the city leads for Leeds. When I was younger, my mum taught me to never judge someone on things they cant control, whether that be race, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, gender etc. As I grew older, I was adopted by the punk community, who showed me love and diversity and inclusion, but also started to educate me on the world. From bands such as the Restarts shouting about Palestine, G.L.O.S.S raging about Transgender rights, Random Hand talk about austerity, I started to realise a lot of the atrocities which were happening, converting me into an antifascist. I have a lot of in-depth knowledge on gender studies including biology, neurology and sociology, the oppression of Palestine, the rise of Thatcher's neoliberalism, and current affairs. And yes, I am the #TheNotSoTolerentLeft

Hi, I’m Emily, the Aberystwyth town lead. In this role, I’m passionate about mobilising our local community and bringing our mission to life on the ground. This movement matters deeply to me because I believe in a world where everyone is safe, valued, and has equal rights, opportunities, and access—no one should be disadvantaged because of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, or type of employment, including sex work. I’m also studying part-time for a master’s in Gender and Sexuality Studies, which inspires much of my activism and fuels my commitment to equality. Outside of study and community work, I love spending time with my ferret, Bandit, getting lost in a good book, or relaxing with video games

I’m Georgia (she/her) also know as Geo a global feminist based in Brighton and proud Co-lead of the Brighton March. I’ve spent the last seven years marching and protesting for women’s rights and now I’m thrilled to co-lead the Brighton March which has been a dream of mine for some time! Alongside my activism I am ambassador for Rise UK a Sussex based charity for domestic violence against women and children. My passion for gender equality also fuels my love of travel whether for leisure or to better understand women’s rights around the world. When I’m not campaigning you’ll likely me find me hiking, theatre trips, day trips to London, reading feminist books or diving into films - especially anything directed by Christopher Nolan (yes the dark knight and Oppenheimer are firm favs!)

Hi, I’m Shenice, but most people call me Nees. I’m 24 and deeply passionate about intersectional feminism and building community. I believe no one is truly free until we’re all free, and I’m committed to making sure underrepresented voices are heard. To me, intersectional feminism means understanding how different backgrounds can make life harder—especially for women facing multiple challenges. I joined Intersectional Uprising to help create a supportive space where women stand together and fight for all their rights.

Hi, I’m Ross. I’m a 22-year-old model and dancer who’s passionate about advancing women’s rights and equality. I’ve supported women’s rights marches for years and see it as my duty to carry the fight forward until true equality is achieved. I love art—especially clay and painting—and I have a pet tortoise, who’s definitely the only “man” I answer to! For me, intersectional feminism means true acceptance and equality for all women, no matter their race, gender identity, or background. I joined the march to help build community and make sure no woman feels alone in today’s political climate.
